Jordan Dempsey’s practice examines how we exist in and move through space, and how subtle gestures can reshape the conditions of encounter. Working across installation, sculpture, video, performance, and dispersed actions, he creates works that resist spectacle, privileging quiet shifts, traces, and contingent relations over fixed or monumental forms.

His projects often blur the boundaries between art and life, reframing the exhibition space as a site of ambiguity, interruption, and participation. At the core of his practice is a belief in subtlety as a radical act. Through situational aesthetics, poetic disobedience, and quiet forms of resistance, Dempsey reveals alternative ways of being, seeing, and valuing. His works unsettle expectations of authorship and value, proposing art as contingent, relational, and inseparable from the lived conditions in which it takes place.
